Application of rubber hoses in the marine field

Dec. 18, 2019

Ship pipelines are pipes used to connect various mechanical equipment on ships, and are used to convey water, oil, gas and other related working fluids. Ship systems are broadly divided into piping systems, circuit systems, control systems, avionics systems, and life-saving systems.

The pipeline system is further divided into fresh water system, drinking water system, hot water system, grey water system, black water system, drainage system and fuel system.

1.Raw water hose

The raw water intake hose draws water from the boat to cool the engine, flush the toilet, cool the air conditioner or provide fresh water to the fish in the bait tank. Depending on the application, the raw water inlet hose will be made of fabric, PVC or stainless steel spiral reinforcement to prevent kinking and prevent the hose from collapsing.

Hose structure:

Inner layer: black, smooth synthetic rubber.

Reinforcement: High-strength synthetic cord.

Outer layer: black, smooth (wrapped), synthetic rubber, weather resistance.

2.Drain pipe

Drain hoses used in cockpits, sinks or showers must have flexibility, strong walls and resistance to kinks and abrasions, but because they are in a positive pressure state, spiral wire reinforcement is usually not required.

3.Fresh water supply hose

Drinking water hoses must be made of FDA-approved non-toxic materials to avoid causing unpleasant taste in the drinking water supply. The pressurization system must use a reinforced hose to withstand the pump pressure (approximately 40–60 PSI). For water fill and exhaust hoses in the tank, use super heavy sanitary / water hoses, and reinforced rubber hoses are the best choice for hot water up to 140 ° F. Alternatively, you can use nylon braided reinforced reinforced vinyl hose.

Hose structure:

Inner layer: black, smooth synthetic rubber.

Reinforcement: High-strength synthetic cord.

Outer layer: black, smooth (wrapped), synthetic rubber, weather resistance.

4.Bilge pump hose

Bilge pump hoses usually use corrugated polyethylene with molded cuffs because it is flexible, economical, and resistant to oil, solvents, and other waste that accumulates in the bilge. For better fluidity, you should choose a hose with a smooth inner diameter, abrasion resistance, and a hose with good kinking resistance.

5. Flexible hose

For low pressure and low pressure delivery of gasoline and diesel, suitable for fire protection of ships permanently mounted on inboard engines.

Hose structure:

Inner layer: black, seamless synthetic rubber compound, oil and fuel resistant, aroma content up to 50%.

Reinforcement: High-strength synthetic fiber fabric.

Outer layer: black, fire resistant, seamless synthetic rubber compound, aging resistant, grease resistant, weather resistant and heat resistant.

6.Fuel pipe

It is suitable for transporting fuels with an aromatic content of up to 50% in pleasure boats not exceeding 24m in length. We recommend that hoses with a diameter of Ø19 mm or more be installed in a straight position or a position with a large bending radius.

Temperature: from -30 ° C (-22 ° F) to + 100 ° C (+ 212 ° F).

Hose structure:

Inner layer: black, smooth synthetic rubber.

Reinforcement: High-strength synthetic cord.

Outer layer: black, smooth (wrapped), self-extinguishing synthetic rubber, oil and weather resistance.

7.Common specifications:

Bottom pump hose: 3/4 1 1/8 1 1/2 or 2

Deck filling / discharge: 1 1/2

Gasoline feed: 1/4 "to 3/8", depending on engine size
